Perilous Adventures

Perilous Adventures: Yet to be released. This project will be hosted on my PA blog only and will not be available anywhere else.

“Perilous Adventures” is a new series of custom mod projects created by me (Cowboy) using the updated Tomb Raider level editor. The adventures will be taking place during the 1920s & 30s, reminiscent of the “Pulp” (comic) magazines and adventure serials of the early 20th century. The series will star a new character of my own creation called Melissa Goldfeld, a former circus performer turned American agent and adventurer. This is a very different project. It will be made almost entirely by me including the design of the main character model and her weapons.

Coyote Creek 2

Coyote Creek 2: Released in 2012. Reached trle "Hall of Fame" in 2013.

This is the sequel to the famous trle project "Coyote Creek", which I worked together with other great talents such as EssGee, George Maciver and Titak. It was designed using the updated editor and the screencaps showcased are from my levels in the project only. I made most of the game items and textures for my levels updated from original Tomb Raider ones except, the Lara outfit, weapons and the occasional game object that were designed by Titak. The Coyote Creek2 title logo was designed by EssGee.

Information: I made a great sepia title flyby for this level, which is a stunning sequence and can be seen in one of the screencaps.

Story: Lara returns to Coyote Creek for a second time to help chief Dark Cloud and to put a stop to the curse once and for all.

The Ghosts of croft Manor

The Ghosts of croft Manor: Released in 2009. Reached trle "Hall of Fame" in 2010.

This was a small solo game made by myself based on Croft manor from the original Tomb Raider. It is perhaps my most famous project and it uses the updated next generation level editor (NGLE) made by Paolo Buratti. I made most of the game items and textures updated from the original TR ones. The Lara outfit and the occasional game item were made by other designers in the community and are given credit in the ‘read me’ of the game.

Story: A young teenage Lara on a summer break visits the oldest of her three family estates for the first time and uncovers its past. This is my interpretation of what I would imagine Lara’s first adventure to be.

Information: The game was loosely influenced by the game "Thief the dark project" by Looking Glass Studios and "The Adventure of the Musgrave Ritual" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Another inspiration was the mysterious closed doors in Croft manor from the original Tomb Raider which you could never open.

TR4 Gold "Fading Light"

TR4 Gold "Fading Light": Released in 2008. Reached trle "Hall of Fame" in  2009.

This was a solo project of mine called "Fading Light". It was one of my most ambitious and successful projects, made entirely by myself. It was inspired by the ideas for the cancelled Tomb Raider 4 Gold project. At the time I had no solid details about the cancelled project, just location Ideas and a loose theme of Voodoo so I remade the project in my own way. This was also my first game to be made using the updated next generation level editor (NGLE) made by Paolo Buratti. Like usual I made most of the game items myself updated from the original TR ones. The Lara outfit, weapons and the occasional game item were made by other designers in the community and are given credit in the readme of the game.

Below is the updated story for this project, which replaces the one in the readme.

Shortly after her return home from a long absence in Egypt, Lara is doing her daily investigating when she stumbles upon an old legend in a book that indicates the mythical figure Davy Jones could actually be real!

It appears Davy Jones was an infamous pirate that caused havoc around the Spanish Main with his ship the “Flying Dutchman”. One myth states that during a raid, the Arawak natives cursed him by making his heart beat, even after his death. It is believed he was drowned in Port Royal, Jamaica during the 1692 earthquake but his infamy lived on in legend.

Shocked by this revelation Lara dives into the myths of the Caribbean where she learns that the Bermuda triangle could be a central waypoint of powerful supernatural energy powered by a small object, namely Davy Jones’s heart! Lara suspects a Voodoo priestess in New Orleans, Louise-Isabelle Villette may have the heart. With all this information, Lara has all she needs for another adventure…
